A live layer of what is happening — not another feed
UpToMap is a geo-social network: needs, offers and moments pinned to a place and a time, shown to the people nearby while they still matter. This page is the short version — where we stand, what we believe, what we could get wrong, and what the pilots are built to prove.
The gap is not maps, and it is not social
Maps tell you what is there. Feeds tell you what people said. Neither tells you what is happening around you right now and who nearby could do something about it. That is the layer we are building, and it is the only thing we are building.
A map
Tells you what is permanently there: the bakery, the park, the clinic. Correct for years at a time, and silent about today.
UPTOMAP
Tells you what is happening there now, and who nearby could act on it. Correct for an hour, and worthless a day later — which is the point.
No single piece of that is hard. What is hard to copy is place, time, intent and relevance behaving as one layer inside one product — and a company willing to keep it that narrow while it is small.

UPTOMAPOne thing you can act on now
Density is the unit of value, not downloads
Local relevance compounds. Every additional person in a neighbourhood makes the layer more useful for everyone already on it, and useless spread across ten cities is worth less than real density in one. So the number we manage against is active neighbours per neighbourhood — not installs, not registered accounts, not reach.
A map of situations is only worth opening if something is already on it when you do.
The same action, a bigger frame
Proximity is what makes a connection efficient. Zoom out and that efficiency compounds — but the action being scaled never changes, which is why the model does not need a new product at each step.
Neighbourhood
A handoff, a blocked street, a local seller with something fresh. Minutes away, useful right now.
District
Recurring events, shared services, and needs a whole group has at the same time.
City
Coordination across neighbourhoods, and patterns that become visible as they happen.
Country
Aggregated local patterns communities and services can act on. Never individual tracking.
Nothing changes as you zoom out except the size of the frame. It is still one person nearby helping another.
Cold start, and no way to fake it
An empty map is worth nothing, and there is no trick that produces a first neighbour. This is the risk that decides the company, so we plan around it rather than past it.
Our answer is to refuse to scale early. One neighbourhood at a time, anchored to a community that already exists, and the next area only opens once the current one is genuinely usable. It is a slower line on a chart. It is also the only version of this that works.

We publish no user, retention or engagement numbers before we have measured them in a real pilot.
Where we are today
- The Android app is live on Google Play.
- Pilots run neighbourhood by neighbourhood, starting inside communities that already exist.
- Early validation stage. Every number on this site is one we can point at, or one we have said we have not measured yet.
The product itself is the shortest introduction: get it on Google Play, or read how it works.
Talk to us
For diligence material, pilot detail or an introduction, write to [email protected]. A person answers, and questions we cannot answer yet get told apart from the ones we can.
Everything on this page describes what we are building and testing. Where a figure is missing, it is missing because we have not measured it.
